Children and Bullying

Growing up kids are told how much fun school is going to be, and how many fun activities they will be learning to do. Parents sometimes leave out the fact that the other children at school can, and will be mean at times. This same thing happened to a child that I cared for with disabilities. He was blind-sided when he went to school and children began to bully him because of his appearances. They just judged from his looks, and didn't like what they were seeing. This young boy didn't understand why the other children were picking on him. Bullying can be very detrimental to a child, and have a very large impact on their future. Schools give students a false definition of bullying because a lot of schools believe that bullying is simple as making fun of another child. In all reality bullying is much more than that.
All students don't always know how to react when someone is bullying them. When students are bullied to a certain extent they will sometimes shut the outside world out, and they are unaware of what they should do. Students are not going to engage in school when there is a bigger problem going on with them inside the school. Especially if that problem lies within the same classroom. The child will be to distracted on what that bully is going to do to them next that they won't be able to focus on their school work. .
The Student Bullying and Violence Protection Program is a program for students in school who are being bullied, and to show kids what bullying really is and the effect it has on the ones who are being bullied. "The Bullying Prevention segment covers the definition of bullying, types of bullying, victims of bullying, the effects of bullying, cyberbullying, and how to develop a bullying intervention program. This program would be so beneficial to students who have been bullied just so they have someone to talk to about what has happened to them. It would also be good for students who have been the bullies, so they can get an insight on what the bullying does to the other students, and how it destroys them on the inside.
