Papakolea - The Green Beach of Hawaii

After walking six and a half dusty, lava covered miles in the dry heat to Papakolea beach, I could finally see it. It was finally time to take in the fresh smell of the Pacific Ocean instead of the red, round, small dusty particles, which were being kicked up to my face. I was finally there; my destination. It was now time to take in the scenery, relax on the small grains of green sand, and listen to the sound of the waves hitting the rocks and pulling the sand out to its inevitable fate in the middle of the Pacific. .
Standing at the top of the cliff looking down into the cove of green sand women applying tanning lotion became clear and the putrid odor of her sun tanning lotion infiltrated the aroma of the salty sea water which found its way into the interior part of my nose. While inspecting the sudden drop of the cliff, a trail leading to the green sand became unmistakable. When walking down the winding, steep, dusty trail, the sharp, light brown, weathered, rock, became visible to the left and right. Both sides stretched out into the ocean but prevented from meeting by a quarter mile of ocean between them. .
At the bottom, the warm, smooth, green sand was pushing through my toes. The sun radiated through the sky only to reach its destination on my un sunscreened skin. Papakolea had an almost mysterious feeling about it, as if only to prevent the unholy from viewing its beauty. I looked up only to see the walls of the cove hovering like skyscrapers. .
When the sun decided to emit more of its deathly rays, I decided to cool off in the Pacific. The water was warm and almost transparent. The sudden sense of breathlessness came over me as I entered deeper into the water. This could only be from the sudden change of my body temperature. I looked around at the bottom of the ocean to only find colonies of sponges, sea anemones, and coral. There were so many colors of each different species, that it lit up the bottom of the ocean like a disco ball.
