The courses I have taken at the university of Balamand (UOB) helped me improve a lot of my writing and speaking skills. Critical thinking has also played an essential role in developing the way I teach my students. Resource analysis has added to the way I choose the English books. Recently, Introduction to Educational Management (IEM) has come up with a new intervention within my educational field. I never thought of being a principal, a supervisor, or any kind of leaders before. However, IEM has changed the way I think and work. In IEM, I have to submit a reflective paper about the whole course. This reflection paper requires me to reflect on my present teaching career and my plan to my future educational course. Since, reflection "provides data for self-evaluation and increases learning from experience (Saylor, 1990, p.1)", I believe this paper adds the most important elements to my educational development. .
Before I started the English Language Teaching (ELT) program at UOB, I had had many different teaching experiences. However, I lacked any learning or training in the management field. The IEM course I have taken at UOB has paved the way for a new look at my teaching career and my employment at my school. IEM has triggered many interesting discussions in class, required the reading of many new and rich articles, and required the answering of many significant assignments that directed my thoughts toward a new stream. .
Discussions in Class.
Dr. Maureen Nicolas, our course instructor, is an inspirational role model who created an efficient classroom management course during this spring semester. With her promptness, positive attitude, respect to her students, set of diverse discussions, and class discipline, she added to my course of teaching an interesting touch in the way I trigger discussions, the technique of well planning and presenting my lessons, and the distribution of time in class.
