A man named Will Hall had a nervous breakdown and was sent to a public health system hospital for two years. There, he "was treated like a disobedient child with a broken brain, punished and controlled, including more than two months in a locked unit. [He] went from being a human being to being a mental patient" (Will Hall's Recovery 1).
