America and Evil Ideologies

This could easily become reality if we adopted a taxation approach which doesn't aim to be equal for the people, but equitable. Pew Research Center found that in 2013, the "Median net worth of upper-income families was 6.6 times greater than that of middle-income families." The far more fortunate would be required to pay a higher percentage of their income to taxes than the poor. Also, there would be far more steady jobs available. In a capitalist economy, the most secure jobs are usually from the largest, wealthiest corporations, and some businesses obviously do not succeed, leaving many people unemployed with no source of income. If the government acted as one singular corporation in charge of all job opportunities, theoretically, there should be no unemployment because there are always industries that simply cannot have enough people contributing. These industries could provide work for anyone who needs it. An excellent example of a government that functions like this one is modern Sweden. Capitalism is usually unfair to the majority of the people and creates unnecessarily bad living conditions for the poor. Even some Americans who work full time jobs after acquiring a degree cannot support their families. Karl Marx identifies the interests of these workers in his book called The Communist Manifesto when he states "The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains" (106).
If one thing is for sure, it's that most Americans do not enjoy communism. This could be for a number of reasons, the most likely being that most of the countries we've had conflicts with recently are communist nations. However, this should not be the case. We do not have issues with them purely because they are communists, there have always been underlying conflicts. Thanks to the notorious American media, we now have millions of uneducated bigots declaring war on communism, socialism and their despicable followers, and that number seems to be growing along with the ignorance.
