There Goes My Smile

I am probably the most accident-prone child out of all my siblings. When I was ten years old I dismantled my newly grown "big girl" teeth. Prior to the accident I was having an amazing day and creating childhood memories with friends, when the accident happened I was unaware of the damage I had permanently caused myself, and from the day after the accident until now, my self esteem has been altered immensely. A typical summer day for a ten year old is playing outside with friends, running around and pretending we are our favorite television show characters. On this particular summer day, however, my brother, his friend, and I were more bored than a deaf guy at a concert. Our neighbors were having a birthday party next door, but it was for a girl younger than us so naturally, we were uninterested. That is until we saw the water slide arise from the ground. We rushed inside the house and begged our mothers to call and see if we were invited to the lavish birthday party. After constant begging and aggravation to our mothers, they finally called. Our mothers had informed us the party would not start until later that afternoon but we were welcome to go and enjoy the wondrous waterslide. The excitement was so surreal. We ran so fast nothing could stop us from getting to that waterslide. As I climbed onto the top of the unattended waterfall of fun and inevitable disaster, I did not know I had just climbed the side of my unfortunate disaster. .
As I watched the others going down the slide, I got the butterflies in my stomach. Seeing their smiling faces with the sunblock dripping down all over them because of the immense amount of water that was splashed on them, I grew more and more anxious to partake in the fun. It was my turn now and I wanted to jump and flip just as my big brother had. So I leaped from the top just as a frog down from lily pad to lily pad. Something had happened though; my take off was not so smooth.
