James the Panhandler

"Excuse me ma'am, can you please spare a few coins? I am awfully hungry and I have not eaten for days!" begged James to a passing middle-aged woman. James is a panhandler who begs people for money. He has no shame in who he begs as long as he is capable of scrounging up a few coins to quench his thirst for marijuana. Since his early teenage years, James had never been interested in going school. His father, who was a carpenter, worked extremely hard to provide his children with the basic needs in life. With much value on education, he also did his best to ensure that his children attended good schools. This was a huge responsibility for one man, considering that he was a widow. His wife had died a few years back from breast cancer. Her death left him lost and devastated, taking into account that she used to assist him in footing the bills in the house. .
Now he was left with no choice but to handle things on his own: bringing up his children and making sure that they were well fed clothed and that they had school fees for their education. James was the second born, in a family of three boys. Despite the struggles that his father went through, he did not value education. He used to skip school and join his friends a few blocks away. Here they could engage in irresponsible habits including pick pocketing, burglary and engaging in abuse of hard drugs. His father did not know about it at first until one day James was caught in the act, arrested and taken to a police station. Since he was only a minor, he was confined in a juvenile school, which inhibited his freedom. .
While in juvenile, he formed another group of hard-headed individuals like himself and together they planned an escape. Though it was quite hard to escape from the juvenile school due to heavy security in the area, they came up with a perfect plan. One night, three months later, they were able to execute their plan and successfully escaped.
