According to a survey, principals of schools that have school uniform rules believe that students stay more disciplined and focused on their studies and feel less peer pressure (Daniels). School uniform enforces the students that school is something to be serious about. When students wear school uniforms, they learn to be disciplined. This, further, creates an environment that helps them to focus on their studies. Moreover, wearing uniform protects the students from peer pressure. For example, when students go to school in uniforms, they do not see brand names outfit around them which is a great factor of division and discrimination. Also, students can stay focused on school work instead of being influenced by brand names. .
Thirdly, school uniform advances unity and equality among students. School with uniform say that their students have better self-regard, because without the name designer garments on show, the students are set on an equivalent level. This uniformity makes a feeling of school unity (Daniels). When the students go to bus stop or school, the same uniform gives the impression of harmony. Furthermore, working in a group, such as playing outside, attending meetings or eating lunch in the cafeteria enhances a sense of integrity due to same clothing. Even more, school uniform develops the feelings of equality among the students. For instance, student's living standards are different from each other. Every student is not born with a golden spoon in his/her mouth. Some students are affluent and some are not. Thus, dress code makes all students look alike and equal regardless of their class or status. Unity and equality endorse immodesty and help to raise the confidence of students who are not affluent. This protects the students from being bullied and prevents the well-off students from carrying out violence and being superior.
