When many people think of a research project, they think of writing about a person or a certain item. In some of my past research projects I did the same thing. I would say for this project I am doing more of a research and developing project. For the project I am looking up how to make a snowboard and then putting one together with the data I find off the Internet and reliable sources like Kindred snowboards and Burton snowboards. The reason I have chosen this idea is due to I wanted to buy a custom made one. But then my English teacher, Mrs.Henning, gave me a idea of just making my own. I liked that idea, so I asked my mother if she would give me the funding for it, and she said yes. .
I snowboard during the winter season. I find it very exciting when I just ride the snow like a big wave and I can stick my hand out in front of myself and just touch the powder as I go "flying" by. I started snowboarding when I was seven years old. I learned how to snowboard good when I was about 10 years old. May I say it a whole new world when you can snowboard correctly. I started doing what is called the "falling leaf". A falling leaf is when you stay on your heel edge instead of transferring smoothly from your heel to your toe. It is a scary feeling doing that transfer for the first time because you feel like you will fall on your face. But right after that feeling, you realize that I am not going to I just ride the snow like a big wave and become "one" with the board. .
Riding is like a rush, some boarders say; Going off a jump and then you just want more and more. It's like a rush you can never feel again unless you get in a very scary event or events like sky diving or racing. Its only a rush for those who aren't faint of heart and those who love getting adrenaline rushes. The "burning" question I have is whether a homemade snowboard can be as good as one that is factory-made.
Some other questions I would like to answer are:.
