The people also have changed a lot of the land for example in the cities such as Paris; the people have expanded majorly and have built houses. This is a one form of change; another form would be the dams that have been built along river to control the flow of the water. The French people also rely on those dams for hydroelectric power.
The last theme of Geography is Movement. France is a country filled with it. The people move by using many trains, cars, or bicycles. France has a really good network of train that connects a lot of cities throughout the country. The products and goods are mainly transported by the use of marine transportation. Due to France being surrounded by a couple different bodies of water. A very important movement service is the airline company Air France, which helps connect France to the rest of the world. Ideas in France are transported and dispersed with the use of cell phones, computers, books, and commercials.
After looking at these five themes of Geography of France, I already widened my knowledge of facts about the country, and how the country maintains its status. With the completion of the News Notebook articles, I learned a lot about the economy and the government. Another way I learned more about France is by interviewing a very nice French lady named Brigitte Laugier. Mrs. Laugier was born in Paris, but lived in the outskirts of the city. She lived on the land, actually in the exact spot where Euro Disney is located today. This already shows how much France has expanded. A lot of precious land has been built on and destroyed because of businesses and the need of houses. Mrs. Laugier remember going to school on little country roads, but those roads don't exist anymore today. When asked about her favorite thing about France, she said it was "that still quality of life that the people in France have". To live in a small, lovely village, and have the ability to go to a market that has fresh products from the local land and farms.
