A girl who once thought she knew about religion and going to church was drawn to a different church. Not the Baptist church her mom raised her in, or the Catholic Church her stepfather made her attend. Not the Nazarene church she visited with her grandfather a few times or the Assembly of God church she had become a member of when she was dating the preacher's son. She was drawn to a Pentecostal church for reasons she couldn't explain (it was God drawing her). It is kind of how an audience is drawn to a scary movie or horror story, but with a positive draw. She continues going to this church until one day while praying she had the irresistible urge to raise her hands. When she did, it was as if she became a transmitting antenna. Electricity shot up and down her body; she began to tremble; she was filled with a warm tingly feeling. All at once it seemed she started to talk, but it was another language. A language she didn't know. (According to the bible she was filled with the Holy Ghost.) .
I am that girl.
Acts 2:1-4 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each to them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Acts 2:16-17 God said I will pour out of my spirit upon all flesh.
Isaiah 28:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to his people.
This is to show how God pours his spirit out onto a person who is opening their heart to him. The utterance of another tongue is simply evidence that person has received the Holy Ghost. Once received, it guides a person through daily temptations.
John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not neither knoweth him: but ye know him for he dwelleth with you and shall be in you.
