Five Myths about Immigration

The thesis of this article is to dispel the myths that excist today about immigrants and the problems and issues that they cause to this county, at the same time emphazing the hypocracy of America, a country that was founded on the concept of liberty and justice to all humans, but it forgets that immigrants are also humans and that this country was founded by immigrants, who themselves where fleeing persecution in their own countries.
The author does an excellent job in supporting his claim by illustrating five main myths/misconceptions that the American pubic has in regards to immigrants and immigration in general. He uses a good balance of statistics and a call to the American public to open its eyes and see its own hypocracy in regards to immigrants and immigration. This is all done in a brief but yet short and to the point arguments, that is well constructed and formulated in such a was as to impress up on the reader, things that one sometimes does not want to think about or just turn a blind eye and say, this does not affect me so why should I care.
The author dos not seem to be unfair in any form if you consider stating your case blunt to be fair? In this case counter arguments are not fully considered, but this is not necessary, because we all know to well the other side of this argument and we tend to accept this as the norm, and not really thing about the other side of the coin, which is what the author does so well for us here. To say that the author is not trying to manipulate and influence the reader would not be fair, he is trying to influence us from the onset, but is all part of his design and it is the main point of the essay! But this does not make it unfair, it is just trying to shed new light on a topic that most americnas would rather not think about.
