My role in the project was to design and develop its GUI using Geographical Systems of Maps. In developing its GUI, we used Geographical Information System APIs and deployed them in our project. This application development in the industrial environment marked the genesis of my work in the field of research.
In the final year of undergraduate studies, I chose to study the problem of 'Reconstruction of Web Forums' as my Major Project. The Project aimed at the reconstruction of any web forums by reducing redundancy and duplicity in search results. We started developing an algorithm based on Wrapper oriented Page Clustering technique, and the goal was to produce better search results in less time. To get a broad perspective of the research, we reviewed many research papers and algorithms. The algorithm not only considered semantic matches, but we also used known features of most forum websites to eliminate irrelevant pages and hence gave better and efficient results. Hence, paper based on our work describing the new algorithm and better results compared to Wrapper oriented Page Clustering technique was published in the Proceedings of the International Conference on Innovative Technologies, ICIT-09, Bahadurgarh, Haryana, India, held on June 18-19 '09. Going through the process of problem definition, exploring, researching, and coming up with better results really bolstered my confidence to pursue career in research.
My decision to join Samsung R&D Mobile division, Noida, India after completing undergraduate studies, was strongly driven by my yearning to explore the research prospects in the industry. The initial experience involved working on the application layer of audio module for NXP platform (Philips semiconductors) which includes a real time operating system known as RTK-E on the various chipsets like PNX 49XX, 52XX, 67XX. After thorough understanding of Application Layer APIs and use cases, I got to work on the middleware of the Audio Framework.
