Blast-One International

For over thirty five years now Blast-One International has been a leading provider of equipment to the Corrosion Control and Protective Coatings Industry. They have expanded and built this small family business all over the world, with locations including North America, England, and of course Australia, its home. When opening their business in North America they went through an entire global rebranding in order to show the American industry that they were here and important competitors. After expanding to North America, Columbus, Ohio specifically, Blast-One encountered a few unexpected problems. One of the main problems being they were not the only ones in the industry here in Columbus. There two main competitors were Clemco Industries and Jad Equipment Company (Jadco) . They are both competing in the same industry Like Blast-One, Clemco is also international, with companies all across the world. However they are new to the American Market and because of their similarities Blast-One has considered diversifying their work in order to actually have and hold a competitive advantage. There are several ways Blast-One can build their brand in order to compete with older local competitors in Columbus. For one they can do their research and see who they are dealing with. By going through what tactics their competitors have taken and gathering information on their services offered, Blast-One will have a starting point. With the gathered information they can figure out what is needed in the area that the other companies do not already offer. Once they figure out a need they can then incorporate that with their own company. Along with this information Blast-One can also use ideas their competitors have and actually improve on those. This way they will be providing the best of the best. I believe a crucial key to success is learning from the mistakes of those around you and working at fixing the problem so you are better than they are in the end.
