Behind Barbra Streisand

That night change a lot for her. It has been said that her vibrant soprano voice won her the loyal audience at the club which was Bon Soir and the Blue Angel. Tony Bennett was born in Astoria, Queens, New York, on August 3, 1926. Bennett had his first hit, "Because of You," in 1951, and made a career singing standards, including his signature song, "I Left My Heart in San Francisco." Bennett's career waned in the mid-1960s, as rock music became dominant, but rebounded in the 1990s. ("Anthony Dominick Benedetto." Bio. A&E Television Networks, 2014. Web. 23 Nov. 2014.).
Tony Bennett discovered his love for music while he was working as a singing waiter at an Italian restaurant and when he was drafted into the military. He performed with the military bands. After he completed his time enlisted in the force he took advantage of the G.I Bill. He studied music and acting at the American theatre wing.
It took a lot of hard work for Tony to find his audience. He was working on it since he was little by participating in talent shows and making appearances at serious events like the Triborough Bridge where he sang at the opening at just age 10. He also studied music and painting at the New York High School of Industrial Arts but never completed because of money and the depression. Another factor of him finding his loyal audience is when he would perform with the military band.
During Tony Bennett's time life was different from the life of Barbra Streisand the reason is because Tony was a child of the Depression. This made a lot of things difficult for so many people of the lower class because it effected the value of money for people. Tony was then required to drop out of school and find a job so that he would be able to support his family with money. He then found a job as a singing waiter at Italian restaurants. Additionally he was then drafted into the military and he fought in World War two.
Comparing Barbra Streisand and Tony Bennett together they are displayed to be very similar and very different.
