As I sat in class on that chilly September day, everything seemed relatively normal. But, as I found out later, it was a day that changed my life. I was dazed and bored out of my mind from all the knowledge getting jammed into my head. As I left 2nd hour, I overheard some kids talking, "did you hear bout so and so?" some girl said. I couldn't really decipher what she said.
When I entered 3rd hr. two of my teachers were chatting about some disaster, then I knew that something was wrong. As class started my science teacher said, "alright class what I am going to tell you will be shocking and tragic to some of you but anyway there was- then she was cut off by our principal who walked in and asked to see her in the hallway. By that time the class was filled with curiosity and we couldn't stop talking. We were wondering what was going on because we had heard that something happened. As our teacher came back she was almost in tears and reached for a tissue.
After that we finished class as usual. The day went on with rumors swirling around and there was alot of commotion. Many kids were pulled .

from school and I couldn't think of any logical reason for their dismissal. At the end of the day our principal came over the P.A. and said "Excuse me teachers and students, today something terrible has happened to our country. The World Trade Centers have fallen due to a terrorist attack," then it all clicked, from my teacher crying to kids getting pulled from school. This changed my life drastically and touched me deeply. I still can't believe this happened and its 2 years after. Now after this event I love and appreciate everyone close to me and even some people not close to me. I am much more appreciative of my country knowing that it's not invincible. People and countries have and can hurt us but can't break us apart.
