Furthermore there are other factors that contributed to the success of the civil right movement. For example the Montgomery bus boycott and black power made a huge impact as it helped reduced segregation for black Americans. Additionally, cause of these events the anti-segregation laws were passed in favour of the Black Americans and it gave the civil rights a huge boost. Although the War was a key turning point, as some black Americans came back from saying "I went into the War a Nigger. I'm coming out a ma n " this shows for some black American that was in the War, their attitude changed about the racial discrimination as before the War. Most black Americans had accepted racial discrimination, but the War made a huge impact as most black Americans wanted change.
Arguably a very significant turning point for the civil rights movement was the Montgomery bus boycott. The Montgomery busboy cut was started by Rosa Parks an NAACP activist that decided not to give up her seat to a white man on a bus in Montgomery. This sparked a bus boycott whereby civil rights leaders got together in order to organise a day to boycott the busses. This meant that for a day, Black Americans had to use other means of traveling as they wouldn't get on the buses. In order for black Americans to travel they rode bicycles, walked. The effect of the Montgomery bus boycott brought attention to the racial discrimination black Americans faced. The Montgomery bus boycott was effective as it helped desegregate busses in America. Montgomery bus boycott was important in getting the civil right act passed as not only did it create awareness about racial discrimination towards coloured people. I can infer from this that ww2 wasn't the only event that played an instrumental role in the development of the civil right. That Montgomery bus boy cut was an event that could arguably be the key Turing point in the civil right movement as it brought an end to racial discrimination on buses and it also helped create a new leader for the civil right movement.
