God and the Creation of the Earth

For years, people's views on the Earth's creation has been divided into strictly two categories; Biblical or Science (Evolution). There are many issues between the two ideas which makes it hard to understand both sides. In order for someone to make a decision in how they believe the world was created, they must first understand a little bit about each side. I will touch on both sides as well as talk about how religious ideas can coexist with science ideas. In the past, individuals had to choose between biblical creation or science creation (Evolution), but because of author John Haught, some can now combine these ideas and can even form their own idea on how the earth was created.
In Genesis 1 and 2, the bible talks about creation. In the bible there is two creation stories, however, these two stories get combined together whenever the church talks about creation. The first story explains how God created the world from nothing in seven days, each day adding more and more to his creation. On the sixth day God created humankind and gave us dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds in the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth. Then on the seventh day God rested and hallowed it, this is why Sunday is the day of rest. This creation story is more open and not as descriptive, the second creation story is more confined and talks more about the creation of humans. This story says God formed man from the dust of the ground and then breathed life through his nostrils. The rest of the story explains how God created the earth, which was all focused around and for humankind. There are many scientific theories that contradict these two creation stories by using scientific evidence and ideas to disprove the biblical stories. .
There are two main scientific theories that contradict the creation stories, these theories are the Big Bang theory and the theory of Evolution.
