As A Man Thinketh

Reading "As A Man Thinketh" opened my mind up about myself and the world that we live in in so many different ways. I feel as though if I would have applied the knowledge that I've acquired in this book to many of my past actions and situations I could have prevented many things from occurring. In life every action has a reaction. This book has taught me that the thought process before the action can and will truly change the reaction. Furthermore, I've learned that the way that we think can affect us not only on the outside but the inside as well. It amazes me that just a simple thought from within can alter a situation entirely. .
One statement that really stands out in Chapter One is: "Only by much searching and mining, are gold and diamonds obtained, and man can find every truth connected with his being, if he will dig deep into the mine of his soul; and that he is the maker of his character, the moulder of his life, and the builder of his destiny, he may unerringly prove, if he will watch, control, and alter his thoughts, tracing their effects upon himself, upon others, and upon his life and circumstances, linking cause and effect by patient practice and investigation, and utilizing his every experience, even to the most trivial, everyday occurrence, as a means of obtaining that knowledge of himself which is Understanding, Wisdom, Power. In this direction, as in no other, is the law absolute that "He that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened;" for only by patience, practice, and ceaseless importunity can a man enter the Door of the Temple of Knowledge." I agree with this statement because we control our own destiny. By digging deep into to our inner selves we realize that our thoughts and actions pave the way for how our lives and life experiences will be.
In Chapter Two, I gathered that as human beings the thoughts that we put into our minds effect the circumstances of what comes out.
