The Norwich Witch Hunt

The depression and anxiety was beginning to touch her mind in strange and unique ways and many of the townspeople viewed her as insane. The people of a small farming community in Norwich, Vermont believed that the witch locked herself in the basement of her deceased parents house and only ventured out at night under a full moon. The townspeople believed that she stayed in the basement to practice witchcraft and plot her revenge. However, the people of Norwich only knew half the truth. The witches name is Monica Porter and she was a very unbalanced individual. Monica was obese, deformed and unbearable to look at. She cursed everyone around her for the problems that she had endured throughout her life and promised to wreak havoc on their souls. However, the townspeople knew nothing about the accident that occurred during her early childhood that spawned the witch who haunted the town of Norwich. .
When Monica was born, her family lived in the outskirts of Philadelphia as corn and wheat farmers. When she was six, a drunken lad heading home from the bar spotted her walking home and decided to kidnap and rape her. The man permeated an odor of stale beer and sweat and shame and Monica wanted to throw up just being near him. Once he had committed the heinous act, the man stoked a fire in a field and tossed Monica in. Before he tossed her in the fire, the man cut off her tongue leaving her mute so that she may never speak of what happened that night to anyone. The man never expected Monica to survive the fire but she did. However, it came at a terrible cost. Monica was a beautiful young girl with long blonde curls, flawless skin and light blue eyes that seemed to sparkle even in the dark. However, the fire had stolen her beauty from her and replaced by a mute and ugly witch the townspeople whispered about. Monica's parents knew the rumors that were floating around the city. Therefore, they decided to pack up and skip town to a rural countryside farming community where they wouldn't be disturbed.
