Michael Dunn felt threatened and he started arguing with the teenagers to turn down their music. The teens refused to turn the music down and he ended up shooting at the car and murdering one of the teenagers, Jordan Davis. Michael Dunn said that the teenagers threatened to shoot him and that he saw a gun in the front seat. The police searched the crime scene and said that they did not see a gun in the car. As his defense he used Florida's "Stand Your Ground " law. This law means a person can use self-defense if they felt threatened. Michael Dunn was sentenced 60 years in prison for attempted murder and firing a weapon into a vehicle. .
