The American and Indian cultures have a very big difference between them. While the culture of America is a mixture of different cultures, the Indian culture is unique and has its own values. One of the major differences between American and Indian culture is family relations. While the Indians are very family oriented, the Americans only care about their selves. Another difference between them is how Americans like to plan ahead, and Indians like to do things at the spur of the moment. In India the roads can hold animals, bikes, cars, etc., and American streets are only allowed to have cars on them (Prabhat). .
India is very family oriented. In Indian culture, the family values are given more notability than the individual values. Indians respect family values (Prabhat). In India the grandparents, parents, and offspring are considered a family, and they all share the same household. Indians are more committed to their families, however; Americans are more committed to their selves. In America, usually just the parents and children live together in one household. Americans are very selfish. They are also known to be self-centered or sometimes isolated and lonely (Mahan). .
Indians believe in the harmony of nature. They like to live their lives spontaneously. Indians believe that everything is done by Gods will. Unlike the Indians, the Americans plan things ahead. The Americans believe in dominating nature and controlling the world around them. Americans are prepared for attacks from foreign countries, natural disasters, etc. But the Indians believe everything happens for a reason and God will take care of it (Prabhat). .
Roadways in India are allowed to carry people, bikes, animals, and cars. Ten percent of global car crashes happen in India. In India traffic rules are rarely followed and road safety has no importance. The Indian traffic authorities have never published an Indian National Highway code.
