            The movie Devil In A Blue Dress is a mystery movie that was released on September 29, 1995. It was produced by Carl Franklin and directed by Gary Goetzman. The story involves a young man by the name of Ezekiel Rawlins and several other characters in search of one thing and doing all it takes to find it. Every one of them tells a different story and deceives one another from the truth. Throughout the story there is a color line between the "blacks" and the "whites," which is one of the main conflicts that surrounds Todd Carter and Daphne Monet. The exchange of money for service was a dangerous and risky arrangement that everyone seemed to have their hands on. Every one of them contributes to the lies, deceits, and murders that have occurred. .
             It was the summer of 1948 in South Central, Los Angeles. Ezekiel Rawlins, also known as Easy, was a veteran from the war who had just been laid off form work and in need of money. He sits in Joppy's Bar looking through a newspaper in search of a job, when Mr. Albright walks into the bar. He offers him a job, to find Daphne, and is willing to pay one hundred dollars for it. Easy takes it and starts asking around for the young woman; not knowing what he was getting himself into. A couple of drinks with his friend Coretta James helps him find some information; the day after that she is murdered and Easy becomes the prime suspect for her death. He is then interogated by the police and then Matthew Terell, who is running for mayor. Easy meets Daphne at the Ambassador Hotel and they discuss Coretta's death. She asks him to take her to see Richard McGee, a man she had a deal with, and when they get there he is already dead. Easy heads back home only to find Mr. Albright and two other men in his house to interogate him about his time with Daphne and tell him to find Frank Green, a colored ganster who is suspected of being with her. Easy sends for his friend, Mouse, to come and help him with his search.
