On Tuesday, October 14, 2014 the participants attended a group session to gain a better understanding of the Mouse Trap Experience. The classroom had to meet at The Lean Learning Center located in Troy, the training course operated from 10:00am to 4:20pm. The participants were advised to arrive ten minutes before scheduling time to explore the location and prepare. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Melissa Curtis-Hendley and were each given instructions to write our names on a sticker so we could be properly addressed. .
By 10:00am everyone was present and Melissa Curtis-Hendly introduced the participants with the facilitator, whom conducted the lecture and directed the participants during the Mouse Trap Experience. They were given directions to the kitchen, where they were allowed to make snacks when the participants became hungry. Everyone in the class was extremely happy for the variety of snacks and drinks that were offered and all participants expressed their positive feedback about the Learning Center. As they entered the room they noticed how large of a room they would be working in, the participants were surrounded by large windows that were divided in different sections by large erase boards with wheels. Each section had a different training purpose with different notes and plans on the board. The room had three different offices for each facilitator and in front of the first office to the right was a siting area with a stack of different kind's of books. All the books were about the lean learning and business topics.
The section of the facility was farthest from the door. The chairs were already arranged in three rows with the participants guide and a pen. The chairs did not have a space to write on during the lecture portion, so for many participants were very frustrated while trying to take notes. In front of the chairs there where two television screens, each divided by a big dry erase board, one was on the left and the other one was on the right.
