When preparing for a match he would always break it down so his team would be prepared for every possible situation. He would break down the other team completely. He would expose the other teams strengths, weaknesses, best players, formation, and every little detail he could in order to prepare for the upcoming match and provide his team with the best chance at winning. When results came his way, whether it is be wins or loses, the moment that match was over was the moment that match was out of his head and in the past. He was never concerned in wallowing over defeat or celebrating in success because Mourinho is a man who is only concern about preparing and planning for the future. .
             The second factor the makes José Mourinho so successful in coaching is the way he understands complexity and diversity within his teams and within the game of soccer. Mourinho is known for his fluidity and systematic coaching which is only possible because of his tremendous understanding of complexity and diversity. Mourinho takes every player with every strength and weakness and finds a way to connect all the players in order to create a system. Mourinho's attention to detail and systematic mind allows him to recognize all these different aspects of the game that include formation, new players, released players, injured players, language and cultural barriers, training locations, and many other aspects. He is then able to identify what role each of these factors play in his team and he understands that if one aspect of their work is not where it needs to be, it can have effect other areas and the only way to correct this is to understand that complexity within the system and the role that each part of the system plays. He knows complexity exists within each individual and relationship within the team and organization and those must be managed. Identifying complexity is very easy to point out especially within the game of soccer, however, truly understanding complexity and how to control the consequences of complexity in order for it to work in one's favor is a true gift that José Mourinho holds.
