One of the greatest stories in the entire bible can be found on the book of Exodus. The story of Moses is full of divine protection, miracles, and an example of a man being used by God. Moses was the child of a slave, and the son of a queen. He was born in a hut, and grew up in a palace. He inherited nothing, and enjoyed all the riches the world could offer. A common man used by God to perform some of the greatest events in all of history. .
Then Pharaoh gave his order to all his people: "Every boy that is born you must throw into the Nile, but let every girl live." (Exodus 1:22) Zandervan NIV. Moses was born in a time when boys were to be killed because of the Hebrews numerous population. Moses" parents knew that he was a child blessed by God so they hid him for 3 months until they could hide him no longer. His mother made a papyrus basket to float him down the Nile River. Pharaoh's daughter came to the river to bath. She saw the basket and heard the cries of a baby weeping. It was not by chance that Pharaoh's daughter went to bath at this very moment in time. God was protecting Moses even now and was even using Pharaoh's own daughter to save the life of Moses. The name Moses even means, "I drew him out of the water.".
Moses grew up in the house of Pharaoh. One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were and watched them at their hard labor. He was an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, on of his own people. (Exodus 2:11) Zandervan NIV. Moses witnessed his own people in slavery day in and day out and this must have played in his mind. As Moses witnessed this, something inside him was fed up so he looked around to make sure no one could see him and when he saw that no one was around, he killed an Egyptian. Moses saw that we he did was wrong so he hid the man in the sand. This action does show us that Moses acted out of the flesh and not out of the spirit.
