The Catholic Church and Education system has gone further to acknowledge and include the topics of sexual behaviour and HIV/AIDS/STD transmission. Perhaps lifestyle choices through the carefully constructed guidelines called Towards Wholeness: A Catholic perspective on personal development, Health and Physical Education years 7-10 , it is an attempt to present the syllabus with the emphasis of the Catholic ethos into Personal Development Health and Physical Education, by encouraging and fostering thoughts, sensations, emotions that all have a role towards the growth and development towards the younger generation, while presenting the catholic perspective. .
Simular to that of its American counterparts, the Catholic perspective condone the sexual activity before marriage and promotes abstinence as the only true protection, it is supported by references to catholic journals, debates and speeches made by Catholic representatives and communities.
