             Virtues and Diversity.
A virtue is a quality to be valued. It's a commendable quality, one that is worth praise, and it is something that people strive to have. It takes a great deal of practice, time and effort to truly become virtuous. Yet while the path to being virtuous is a long one, once it is achieved, the benefits outweigh the work put into it.
Diversity has many virtues. There are obvious benefits to having it, but like anything of virtue, the process of properly achieving diversity is strenuous. Defining diversity depends on the context. It is most well known as the inclusion of different types of people in a particular group or organization. In the most basic sense, however, diversity is a state of having many different forms, types, ideas, etc. It is inclusive and all encompassing.
             Virtues of Diversity in Society.
Working towards achieving diversity, when done properly, produces significant benefits. A society that is exclusive, one without diversity, does not take advantage of all the talent it is offered. Diversity is inclusive, not just of people, but of different ideas and mindsets. Embracing diversity allows for a productive society. A diverse society utilizes the skills and knowledge of its entire people, maximizing its sources of talent. More importantly, this kind of society fosters creativity and innovation.
A relevant but complex example of diversity in society would be college admissions. The benefits colleges reap from diversity are certainly correlated to the benefits gained by society as a whole.
