I chose education because it is something very relevant to my life at this time. Education gives me a head-start on life and it paves the way for success in my future. It was said that I wouldn't have a bright future, so that makes me want to do anything I can to accelerate it. I think the first step towards a bright future is getting an education. With getting an education, I will have the opportunity to fulfill what I'm capable of. Advantages of education come in many forms. Some of course, are the increase in income verses no education, professional opportunities, the amount of knowledge you gain, when it's time to choose a career it will be one you enjoy, and education also gives you a variety of career options. There are many more advantages of having an education that could improve your way of living tremendously. .
Education is not something easy to obtain. It takes a lot of time and effort. My father, who solely raised my siblings and me, didn't get a college education until his mid-thirties. I watched him go through financial trouble, serious medical problems and much more. My dad did manual labor all his life due to his lack of education. In his early thirties he was in an accident and was unable to return to manual labor. So, at that point he saw no other option but to hit the books again. After only two short years, he graduated with an associates degree in computer technology. With getting his degree, he was hired right out of college. He went to work for Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Al. He advanced very quickly within his career. My father passed away a few years ago but because he made the decision to get an education I know that he was happy with the life he had lived. I can say proudly "That's my father." When I look at my dad's life I see how important education truly is. Education gives you more positives in every aspect of life. I think having a good education guarantees you higher income, more choice, and happiness throughout your life.
