            Child abuse is considered a growing problem and recently, more than ever, the complicated issues have been highlighted and brought to our attention by the media. In an attempt to reach the masses about the child abuse epidemic, The Aid to Children and Adolescents at Risk Foundation(ANAR), is utilizing the media to present a powerful, thought-provoking marketing campaign. Their advertisements contain a a series of messages, designed to connect specifically with those age twenty and over. .
             The ANAR ad attempts to inform the public on all types of child abuse. It's very straight forward, showing a child's face with scars and bruises and with a text that stating, "Sometimes, child abuse is only visible to the child suffering it."" This sentence doesn't specify a specific type of child abuse, but alludes to the fact that child abuse comes in many forms: physical, sexual, emotional and child neglect. The picture in the ad conveys a child who is being physically abused, showing the bruises left behind. By using an image of a child suffering from physical abuse, the audience is made aware of the physical and emotional scars abuse can leave on a child. .
             Advertisement give felling to an audience and depending on the message and the feeling it wants to convey depends on the color schemes of an ad. Color plays an important role in identify--it draws consumers to a product, stirs emotions and has a large impact on recognition. Color can make us feel happy, sad, hungry or relaxed. This informative advertisement of child abuse uses a very dull color scheme. .
             This ad is mostly grey with the exception of the child, but the child also appears to look very pail but looks grey at the same times. Grey, is a dull neutral color which conveys strong emotions which can be described as "Cloud or Moody. " Grey, is also a color of mourning as well as formal which in this case might have been used with both intentions.
