In my church, the service has an order but deviation is common and there is no exact way of holding service. .
.
Catholic mass is very precise and the Priest is responsible of the order of the church, whereas in other churches there are different people for leading hymns, praying, etc. My church has a more uplifting ceremony of praise and usually makes worshipers feel better about them at the end of the service. Mass is more solemn and low-key and worshipers are expected to conduct themselves in a "professional "manner. No outburst or testimony is allowed in Mass and openly given praise is not put of tradition.
.
In my church, the preacher or pastor says a sermon to teach the word of Jesus to the congregation. The priest in the Catholic Church says a homily, which is something of a sermon but without the fire and brimstone delivery of a sermon. Homilies are not used to spread the word but are more of a conversation with the masses.

The biggest misconception I had about the Catholic Church is exactly what the Pope's role in the church is. Catholics believe the Pope (Bishop of Rome) is the spiritual leader of the Church and that this was Christ will. My church, as well as other Christian religions, does not accept the pope as spiritual leader, although some have their own spiritual leader. Most Christians who are not Catholic view Jesus as the head of the Church. In this view, there is no need for other religious figures, since Jesus fulfills all religious needs. My church believes that Jesus has already granted us Salvation without any requirements aside from believing on the Lord and being saved. .

The pope formally speaks about morals or dogma in the name of the whole Church; it is believed that he cannot make a mistake because the Holy Spirit guides the Church. I do not accept the pope's infallibility and do not believe that any one person can speak for the Church. It is my belief that Jesus was the only person who could speak for the church.
