How Should Schools Handle Bullying?

 

            Some people wonder if schools actually discipline bullies the right way and if it's an effective method. The lack of discipline can really cause an increase on this type of abuse around schools. These actions causes the victims to perform poorly in school and in their personal lives. Schools lacking system on disciplining bullies is affecting other students physically and mentally. Schools need to make an improvement in a rapid manner by providing a faster and efficient corrective action plan for the problem and by implementing new regulations on the problem.

             Many students every year continue to be abused by another or other students so called "bullies " among their school. This problem continues to happen due to the fact that the school discipline is not very productive and need to put more emphasis in the actual problem, by not ignoring it. The enforcement of rules among the school needs to be applied on a consistent manner and without hesitation. If school places more emphasis in this problem the amount of bullies eventually will be diminished and less students will be victims. .

             Some types of abuse that bullies cause to other students is mental and physical abuse. The amount of mental abuse that is being caused to the victim is greater than the physical abuse taking place in a daily basis. Although, physical abuse is extremely important to prevent as well. Both type of abuse cause the victim to perform poorly in their school and in their personal lives. It causes a lot of insecurity and depression, to the point it could reach students to commit suicide. This is one of the reasons why, schools should take a look and revise their current disciplinary policies when it comes to bulling, in order to prevent permanent damage on the victims and their families. A school board or district should come up with monthly meetings to include the parents to come up with a better and improved disciplinary plan for the problem.
