Psychology

The health problems have been very clear for many years. It causes childhood obesity and visual problems. But the social problems are a bit harder to see. Children who don't go out with their friends gain serious social problems. They become unable to interact with other human beings and this can cause serious problems in later life. If television had a limit to it then children would not suffer these problems as they would have to go outside. If the children had a limit from all forms of screens they would at least not suffer physical problems and probably not the social problems either.
It's also a good idea to make sure kids have a wide variety of free-time activities like reading, playing with friends, and sports, which can all play a vital part in helping them develop a healthy body and mind. Include the child in households. Books, puzzles, and toys are even better than the TV and more creative. There are worries that with all the intake from the electronics can harm a child's development. The more TV children watch, the more likely they are to resist going to bed and to have trouble falling asleep. Television can also affect a child's behavior. Children who spend more than two hours a day watching TV or using a computer are more likely to have emotional, social and attention problems. Exposure to video games also increases the risk of attention problems in children. Children who watch excessive amounts of TV are more likely to bully than children who don't. This can all be related to chapter 10.
I choose this topic because I feel that a lot of factors stem from watching too much television. For example, behavior problems, obesity, and developmental delays. Also, in today's society we are all about our technology, so it's interesting if people would give that up and substitute it for playing outside. I found the article very informative and it went along with what I believe in as well.
