In 1997, I attended a support equipment asset manager course, which provided me with the knowledge to operate an automated asset system supporting equipment assets, and inventory control procedures. In 1996, I attended shipboard aircraft fire fighting which gave me the understanding of proper fire fighting techniques. In 1997, I attended the transportation of hazardous materials course. This two-week course gave students the knowledge to effectively and legally prepare hazardous material for shipment via air, land, and sea. In 1999, I attended an aviation supply system specialist course, which gave in depth training in material and property control management. Additional in depth training utilizing the Naval Aviation Logistic Command Management Information System (NALCOMIS) was received. The main objectives of this course were the operation of aviation supply system functions, both afloat and ashore, and processing inventory management records listings for the control of aviation repair parts stocks. Additional information regarding the input of data to the NALCOMIS system and prepare the parameters for management report analysis was received. Knowledge was also gained in manual procedures associated with the management of materials and inventories. In 2000, I attended a second class petty officer leadership course. This course gave students the information and guidelines to effectively lead and supervise personnel. Students were also able to identify basic principles of leadership including oral and written communication, in professional relationships. Other topics covered were the role of motivation, empowerment, and counseling in development of subordinates. The ability to effectively manage human resources, teams, and stress to create a quality organizational climate was also covered. In 2002, I attended the financial management of aviation accounting course. This course provided me with the proper instruction and tools to effectively manage an operating budget.
