Is There Such A Thing As a Just War?.
Some people believe that there is such thing as a just war but isn't that the same thing as saying that a war is okay. Some people say that war is inevitable but that doesn't mean that the war is justified. If people feel that war is justified do they believe that bullying is sometimes justified or "okay". In school they teach us never to resort to violence and that violence never solves anything. How do they expect us to believe this when there are so many wars going on all over the world. War is just the last resort or an easy way out. Only bad things come out of war when you think about it. After a war is over there is nothing to show for it except people dead, cities destroyed and lives that will never be the same again. .
.
As you grow up everyone tells you that there is no excuse for fighting and that you should never use violence to solve a dispute. Then when we grow up we see wars all around us and conflicts being resolved by two countries fighting against each other and killing each others people. So what are we suppose to think? That it's okay to fight back if you are part of a country fighting another country in a war with millions of people but if you walk up to some kid at school and punch them in the face it's totally wrong. Why is it that when you get into a fight at school your parents look down on you and are disappointed with you but those same parents are supporting their president when your country goes to war. These two concepts contradict themselves. Violence is okay if you have a whole country behind you but if it's just you and your fists its wrong. .
When someone breaks into your house and shoots you with a gun they get sent to prison for the rest of their lives. When a soldier kills someone during war time they get a medal of honour. One of the Ten Commandments in the bible is "thou shall not kill". This means that killing someone is a sin.
