Information and conveniences we never could never even fathom five years ago. Computers, voice activated products, robots to complete manufacturing, using the Internet to see the world anytime, from anyplace, and now you can even call anywhere from places you would never find a phone. Technology has taken many developed a lot in recent years. Some people love it, some people hate it, some know every nook and cranny, and others are baffled.
With the use of an added convenience like the cell phone, people are overwhelmed. Large amounts of teenage Americans own cell phones, as do their parents. At first, cell phones were a lifesaver, and only used in such emergencies. Now it is a different story, cell phones are used constantly. Many restaurants in highly populated areas are restricting the use of cell phones in the facility. Some are making sure no one gets any calls by placing metal "call blocker" plates in the ceiling and roof.
The Internet can be great, and at the same time, a large hassle. You can order things from the other side of the world at anytime. You can find almost anything you need. This is a place for people to meet each other and make new online friends (most important word being online). The Internet creates a facade for all of its users. In the beginning, people respected this and revealed their true identity. Since that time, many people have used the Internet to complete horrible deeds. People can no longer meet others online and then meet them in person. This could be dangerous. In recent years people have taken advantage of this facade and created an alter ego for themselves.
Although all of these technological developments can be a great help, they are hurting our society every moment. You've heard of a victimless crime, this is a crime with out a perpetrator. Today's kids use the Internet, play computer & video games, and watch TV for endless hours.
