             I"m sure we can relate to and have faced many situations involved in being a teenager right? Well that's exactly what this movie is about. Whether it be trust, jealousy or rumors we all have been though it. O is a compelling teen drama that relates to the everyday lives of the impulsive emotions of adolescences. O is an modern day remake of William Shakespeare's play Othello. O introduces us to adolescent problems that occur in everyday teenage society such as, love, jealousy, racism, and betrayal. With enduring themes and plot twists I"m sure you"ll be glued.
             O is set in a modern day elite private school. Mekhi Pheifer plays the role of Odin James, aka O, who is the only black student enrolled at Palmetto Grove Academy. He is the anticipated NBA superstar, who has been recruited by the school for his spectacular basketball abilities. O, being the only African American in the school, is popular throughout school, and known for leading the basketball team to the league championship and into the state finals.
             O is dating Desi, played by Julia Stiles, who is the Dean's daughter. The Dean has a problem with this relationship but refuses to admit to it or speak on it as a racial issue, seeing that O is the only African American enrolled at the .

             school. O and Desi have a steady relationship, based on love. The only problems they face are racial hatred that occurs throughout the school. By being the only African American at Palmetto Grove O has to strive to succeed in everything he does, whether it is academically, athletically or socially. Os" best friend Hugo played by Josh Hartnett, is the son of the coach, and has been asked to watch over O, who might face racial pressures at school. Yet, Hugo is resentful of O and the attention that he receives from the coach and everyone else at school.
