             Words are an important part of your life. You also speak, listen, read and write with words. Words help you to communicate your ideas. They also help you to understand other people's ideas. Developing your vocabulary is one of the most useful projects you can undertake. Vocabulary development and success go hand in hand, both in school and later in life. Students with the best vocabularies usually do the best in the school. Adults with broad vocabularies can deal more effectively in social and business situations. Spending more time developing your vocabulary is a rewarding activity.
             Vocabulary is a central part of your life. The words you know and use show what your interest are. Your vocabulary tells where you've been, what you've done, and where you're heading. You are your words. .
             If you are interested in cooking, you'll learn words such as broil, blanch, marinate, baste, sauté and soufflé. If you know the meaning of free throw, pivot, rebound, traveling, press, dunk, and stuff, you have some knowledge of basketball. .
             You are your vocabulary, when you change your vocabulary you change your life. When you learn a new word it opens up possibilities for new experiences. Your experiences broaden your vocabulary and your vocabulary broadens your experiences. They support and strengthen each other. Words have momentum. They carry you from experience to another. When your words change, you change. .
             There are many ways to develop your vocabulary. Mainly you learn words by having many experiences, doing things: traveling, seeing new objects, playing games, having hobbies, doing jobs, speaking and listening to people. You learn words from radio and television. You learn a lot of words by reading books, magazines, and newspapers. .
             Many important words are short and easy to learn. Many simple, ordinary words deal with important aspects of life: love, kindness, fairness, truth, justice, equality, and courage.
