Physicians and Surgens

Physicians and Surgeons play a vital role in our society today. They will be involved in everyone's life at one time or another. They diagnose illnesses, give drugs, and administer treatment to people who need medical attention. Physicians specifically are the main doctors that examine the patients and are the ones to determine if surgery is needed. Some times the physicians themselves will do the surgery and other times they will pass the job along to another surgeon depending on what needs to be done. Physicians also counsel the patients on how to keep themselves healthy such as suggesting specific diets or hygiene habits. .
There are two types of physicians: The Medical Doctors- the M.D.s-and the Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine- the D.O.s. The main difference is that, while both use all accepted methods of treatment like drugs and surgery, D.O.s place special emphasis on the musculoskeletal system, preventive medicine, and holistic patient care. M.D.s are primary care physicians and usually practice family care. Primary care physicians tend to see patients on a regular basis for preventative treatment.
Surgeons are basically physicians who treat injury and disease through operations. Surgeons use general or local anesthesia to repair tissues after injuries or perform preventive surgeries. A large number of surgeons do perform general surgery lots of surgeons tend to pick on specialty to concentrate on. .
Due to the growing population, physicians and surgeon's jobs will be more plentiful. Although the job opportunities may be plentiful, future physicians may be more likely to work fewer hours, retire earlier, have lower earnings, or have to practice in undeserved areas. Job opportunities should also be good in rural and low-income areas due to other physicians finding these areas unattractive due to low earning potential and isolation from medical colleagues. New physicians are also much less likely to enter solo practice and more likely to take salaried jobs in group-medical practices, clinics and integrated healthcare systems.
