Africa is a death ground for humanity, imagine, sitting in school, and all the sudden a third of the people disappear. This seems far-fetched, but in Africa it is a near certainty. AIDS is a disease that is almost sure to kill, it itself doesn't kill it's victim, instead it attacks the immune system and even sicknesses that are trivial today such as the common cold can become a horrible death sentence. AIDS in Africa is a problem that no one really wants to take on. The death of a continent cannot be solved through an equation or even by giving billions of dollars. The only way to stop an incurable disease is to treat it like any other, and let it die along with its victims. .
In the densely populated Botswana, the people are suffering from AIDS. The situation there is that if one doesn't have it, then they know someone that does. In fact, one-third of all people in Botswana is HIV positive and is able and ready to die from AIDS (Death to a Continent). In fact, it also has one of the greatest literacy rates. This is utterly ironic because they should be the ones that know better than to get a prostitute and help spread the disease. A quote by the great author P.J. O"Rourke says that overpopulation is, "just enough of me, too much of you." This is extremely true in Africa because if the government realized what the population was doing to them then they would do something about it. Instead they relish in their own wealth while their "minions" are scrambling to spread an apocalyptic disease. It is now however, too late. .
The next problem that can also be fixed through isolation is the population situation, and the GDP. Sub-Saharan countries are in dire straits, the ones with illiterate poor people are the least infected, and the ones with smart rich/middle class people are all dying of AIDS. The population of the educated cities is really high, and in fact, the cities are packed like Japan.
