Media Manipulation

            Today there exists in our world, an enormous blanket. This invisible blanket is silently smothering our society, blinding innocent citizens. Common people such as you and me are caught in the middle of this blanket and outside of it, there is a whole different world, something that those inside the blanket, could never comprehend.
             Who is responsible for this blanket, you ask? The defence seated across from you at this moment; the media. And what is the media hiding from us? The truth. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, we live in a world where the media is an extremely powerful and influential source, relied upon by many. .
             From television, to radio, to newspapers and the Internet, this giant swirl of information, is designed to keep us, the members .
             of society, informed and educated on the issues and events going on in the world. But what we are seeing, hearing and believing, is far from that. .
             Long gone are the idealistic values of using the media to maintain a well informed, educated public. Now we see the creation of .
             codes and conventions that allow the exploitation of this belief as the leaders of the media fight a constant battle between each other. A battle to gain ratings, popularity and above all; money. .
             The sad thing is, the truth is not what will gain the popularity of viewers. So to comply with this instead of fulfilling their expected purpose, the media is projecting a fractured, false image that does not represent reality but rather entertains the public. But it doesn't stop there. .
             Not only are we being lied to for the use of monetary gain, but we are also being influenced on many aspects of our lives. The media is manipulating the information they extricate, pulling this blanket over our eyes, so that we believe what they want us to believe. .
             From election campaigns to world war, how can any viewer make fair judgment, as we are all obligated to, when we are seeing an altered construction of reality? Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, it is time to put an end to this, to yank off the blanket and reveal the truth.
