Schizophrenia is a fascinating alternation of a brain that impacts everyday function of an unfortunate human. Schizophrenic's brain does not deter ate between fantasy and reality. The two world (real and fantasy), blend in making it hard to function in organized society. A personal experiment is used as an example of how a normal functioning person transforms. First it focuses on Olga's background, symptoms, and behavior currently. Explaining and defying schizophrenic symptoms. Comparing symptoms of the schizophrenia to psychosis. Scientist study show the percentage of people having this disorder and what factors that could possibly be causing this illness. As it is seen schizophrenia existed through ages as far into history as can be seen. Sadly scientists have many unanswered questions and theories but not much proof. Even though there are medications that can help control the symptoms, many people are not getting treatment and are being neglected.
A couple of years ago I did not have a clue what word "schizophrenia" meant, but two years ago a very close friend of mine was diagnosed with it. In a short period of time Olga transformed from a well known person to a stranger. Her actions and behaviors became unfamiliar to people she knew. No body knew what was happening, but soon Tony informed us that Olga suffers of schizophrenia. .
Olga graduated from high school and was attending community college, working toward a dental hygienist degree. She was also working part time as a childcare provider. At age eighteen she began going out with Tony. They became engaged shortly thereafter and went out together frequently until their marriage. Married life was considered a boring routine by both Olga and Tony. There was very little conversation between them, even though she was very talkative and outgoing with us (friends). Olga's disappointment in Tony increased. They had nothing in common; she was outgoing, whereas he had only an ordinary, conventional outlook toward life.
