In our society many people suffer from depression if they do not achieve the .
"perfect body look" as it shows on magazines and newspapers. Media creates an .
obsession about appearances that can harm person's health. I believe unacceptance of a .
person's body can lead to lower self esteem.
Many people feel their bodies are inferior or unacceptable. For instance women .
still put so much emphasis on how their bodies compare to that of models and celebrities. .
Many of them obsess and sad by looking back at photos of themselves when they were .
younger and realize how beautiful their figure were and glorious. Fashion also creates an .
eating disorders where many young women ram their fingers down their throats or starve .
themselves near to death is because they think they have a poor self image. Men are also .
effected by fashion, for example many muscular men complain of not reaching the .
perfect body look that they are expecting therefore they start to take some pills that will .
harm their health in near future.
.
People may also suffer from depression by not reaching the perfect look. For .
example in our community many teenagers in high school think about suicide, isolation .
and deal with emotional pain. I remember two years ago one of my classmate from Santa .
Monica high school committed a suicide. Evidences proved that the main cause of that .
action was the appearance. The student suffered from emotional pain looking and feeling .
ashamed of herself. she always tried to hide and not appear to public, she was always .
isolated. She never had friends because she thought she would not fit with them. Here are .
some evidences how fashion creates mental disorders and lack of education.
Fashion has always created depression and low self esteem among many people. I .
firmly ban all the fashion magazines and media shows that harm many people's health in .
our society. We also have to realize that an individual is not based on her or his physical .
