Have you ever had a person that is your best friend at some points and then at other times you want to be as far away from them as possible? Well I have and he is my dad, at least that is how he used to be until my family and I helped him. .
My dad was a wreck about a year ago, he didn't know what he was doing and his business was in the dumps. He had been doing a lot of bad things that he should not have been doing. Not only was all that happening but his marriage was also going down. During all of this chaos in his life he also taught me a lot of things about life and how important friends are to have. .
It was about a year ago and my dad and my mom were split up, so naturally my dad went into a deep depression. He moved out of the house and started to live in a hotel. The hotel was disgusting, it had cloths everywhere, dishes and food everywhere. I didn't even want to go there, I would make up an excuse not to go there, it jus made me depressed. I just wondered how he could live like that. When my brothers and I would go to visit him he would look fine, but I knew that he wasn't doing to well. He didn't really talk to any of his friends anymore, and they didn't know what was going on. He never told anyone what he was doing and he never asked anyone for help. His business was also not doing to well, he wasn't getting any work and wasn't trying to. Most of his workers quit to go find other work with other people. His life was not doing well at all. .
One thing turned around his entire life in one day and I will also never forget that day. Things got really bad for him and his friends and family started to get really concerned, but no one did anything. Until my dads really good friend Kevin took action and changed his life. Kevin signed my dad up for rehab down in Arizona, it was for one month and he had to be in entire isolation. The same day that Kevin signed up my dad he drove him all the way down to Arizona to rehab.
