The problem of violence against women is at once simple and quite complex. It is simple because it is so obvious, such violence is everywhere. Women are beaten, abused, raped, and tortured on the streets, in the boardroom, and in the bedroom (222). Domestic violence is the chief health risk faced by women; I should know I studied family violence in a county with highest rate of domestic violence. Domestic violence is one of those things nobody talks about; it is almost taboo to talk about that. But now there are programs out there today that help people open their eyes. Women have been the victims of domestic violence for a long time. But only recently have we started programs for them, housing, protective laws for battered women. Domestic violence towards women needs to be on high alert; it is a tricky subject because the crime usually happens within the victims own home by someone close to her, which is why it is hard to crack down on and why it will go on for years to come.
Domestic violence is not just battered women, but also rape. Rape is almost a category amongst itself due to its enormous subcategories. These crimes are not always agents women, they are agents men also, nobody takes the man serious when he says I have been beaten by my wife, or when a man says he has been raped it just a big joke. society does not let men get battered or raped by women in society that an impossibility. .
Domestic violence is a subject everybody needs to be clear on, it does not happen out side on the street all the time 90% of the time it happens in your own home, your neighbor's home right in your own neighborhood. People will see it and think nothing of it and just let it pass, that is not the case. We need to call authorities as soon as possible when we whiteness a crime happen. When it comes to domestic violence don't just think battered women, think family violence. It can go both ways male, female, even child.
