The very tone of the poem indicates Sophie's pride for her Aunt and probably her desire to be a daffodil in her own light.              As the book procedes from book one to book two there is a shift of color seen from yellow to red . the first indication of the occours right before Sophie leaves HAti for NYC the First time where Sophie describes what she was seeing as she left her village heading for the airport where she said "quote" . This could have been ment as a foresight into what Sophie future holds. .
