American Growth Through Courage

Anzia can also be quoted as saying "America is no utopia. First you must become efficient in earning a living before you can indulge in your poetic dreams." She realized that even though the times and way of live in her new home were hard and often unfair, if you stayed strong and worked for what you wanted all the while staying true to yourself and what you believe you will be rewarded in some way at some time. Some times things just aren't what we think they are or what we are told they are, discovering something like this could destroy a person and who they are but it was people like Anzia and all of the other courageous immigrants who came here and stayed strong through the time and over all corruption that the young country and it's people were dealing with.
Another demonstration of courage was literally at the birth of the nation we live in today, Abigail Adams, the wife of John Adams often wrote to her husband and in one of her letters she can be quoted as saying "How many are the solitary hours I spend, ruminating upon the past, and anticipating the future, whilst you, overwhelmed with the cares of state, have few moments you can devote to any individual." It is very obvious that Abigail misses her husband very much, although she misses him she understands that he has many obligations he must face for the sake of the nation. All though many of us would not think of something like this as courage I feel that it is a form of courage because even though she wanted her husband to come home she stayed strong and supported what he was doing away from home. If it were not for the courage and overall support of Abigail Adams we may not be living the way we do today, I feel that this is because she supported her husband who had to make many difficult decisions and may not have been as able to answer them if it were not for the courage that his wife showed through the times she had to be alone and away from the person she loved.
