Softball is a very exciting but also mentally challenging game. I have been playing softball now for about 13 years. Even though it seems like I've been playing for awhile I"m always learning new things about the game. There are so many different situations that could happen during a single game, you have to be ready every pitch. Currently I play for an open class team here on Okinawa. We play all our tournaments during the weekends. Some tournaments will start during the week day and go on into the weekend. When you can play up to ten games in a couple of days you tend to question your ability on the field and that's where the mental part of the game comes into play. It gets frustrating sometimes when you are not fielding the ball making errors or your in a batting slump and can't get a base hit when your team needs it. At this point your ready to give up but then your team pushes you and then all of a sudden it all seems to fall in place. Things start to go your way, you make incredible defensive plays and you come up to bat with the game on the line and get the big hit to win the game. This emotional roller coaster is probably the reason why I enjoy the game so much. One day you are on top of the world and the next game you are as low as you can feel. It's a famous saying "anything could happen on any given day ". This is why I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys the challenge of physical and mental being.
