Eight Men Out movie/book

Every time you read a book and watch the movie, the two are going to differ. Some parts of the book will be better and some parts of the movie will be better. In reading the book first, you get a unique idea of what you picture things to look like, and often times are disappointed by the movie. When you watch a movie the picture is already provided for you, and the book just seems to be excessive details. In reading the book Eight Men Out then watching the movie, I was left somewhat disappointed. I quickly realized that if I had been the director I would have done quite a few things differently. .
As a director I would have put more emphasis on few things throughout the movie. One thing, in which I consider to be very important, was the fact that the players were extremely cheated on their salaries. It was addressed during the movie, but not stressed enough, in my point of view. I consider this fact part of the backbone of the plot. The White Sox, at the time, were the best team in the business, but surely were not getting paid like it. Owner, Charles Comiskey, treated the press better than his own players. If he were to pay his men what they earned there would have been no reason for the fix, and it may not have even occurred.
After reading this book, and thinking what I would have done in the movies, then watching the movie, I became shocked. In my mind I thought that anyone who watched the movie without reading the book, was getting cheated out of the whole story. There is no way a person could fully understand the happenings of the time just by watching the movie. I soon came to the realization that the director just had a different vision than I did. Neither of these interpretations is wrong nor right, just different. Any way the story is visualized the events still stay the same, it is just the understanding of the reader that makes each person visualize something different.
