Importance of Organizational Behavior

             Importance of Organizational Behavior.
The structure of organizations has never remained constant. Businesses today are not like the businesses of ten years ago. Managers have to change also. The business environment where everyone does as they are told or risk being terminated no longer exists today. Businesses need to comprehend the drives and motivations of their employees. To help managers and organizations understand the complexities of the new workplace many studies have been developed to help solve the mysteries of what goes on inside the minds of each individual worker. Once a company chooses and implements a study, it is necessary to analyze the results. Many results can come from a single study and it is up to management to decide which solution. It is in the best interest of the company to learn about organizational behavior, to apply the steps involved, and to perceive the outcome. This will allow organizations to motivate the worker and to allow the company to grow. .

Learning about organizational behavior will help managers develop a better work relationship with their subordinates. The most frequent problems managers face is often described as people problems (Robbins, 2002). Since managers require working with and through other people it is important that managers develop good people skills. Organizational behavior can help managers to develop these skills. If a manager is able to sympathize with the employee, he or she will be able to understand them better. In my organization, this is a rarely seen attribute. Workers often neglect doing tasks in a timely manner due to the manager not supporting the subordinate's needs. For example, if a particular task requires an employee to work past his or her shift then it would be appreciated if the manager would thank him or her. This simple yet well-regarded gesture would display how much an employee is valued in the organization.
